Hole Story: Pinhole Camera

event Saturday, 2-5pm

Alberto Duman

In mid-June 2014, four artists dug a large hole in the unique historical grounds of an Old Rectory in Hackney Central in response to its imminent redevelopment.

On Saturday 4 October 12-6pm, the hole will be turned into a pinhole camera, where the surroundings of its negative space will be drawn onto its whitewashed walls, bringing the sky above the hole into its own space as a form of energy burial. Visitors will be able to enter the darkened space and witness the outside environment projected inside the hole. Artist Karen Russo will present her own response to the project at 3:00pm

[Location: opposite Primark is a drive way, the space is at the far end of the driveway through a black gate.]
