Design studio Common Objects has invited French artist Nina de Angelis to present an ensemble of sculptural artworks specially created for her first UK exhibition. De Angelis’ recent work consists of producing structures made of abandoned materials, such as wood, plastic, concrete, and so on, which she collects in the surroundings where the work is taking place, engaging herself in lonely walks where she explores and investigates new spaces. As a trace of the exhibition, the artist will donate a functional sculpture that will be integrated into the studio environment. The exhibition will also function as an open studio, incorporating a display of the studio archive, Rosalie Schweiker’s ‘Sex Shop’, and an artist-run distribution network for publications and designed objects. This exhibition is kindly supported by a Space Station Sixty-Five studio bursary.
