Maia Conran’s solo show in the Kingsgate Project Space focuses on methods of scripting for film as tools for production and exhibition. Through her process of selection and use of multiple voices, Maia presents multifaceted viewpoints on the architectures, environments and structures that are the protagonists of her work. Working in the space of the exhibition her show has been developed in response to the site and context of the Kingsgate Workshops Residency Programme.
Maia Conran lives and works in London. She graduated from the University of West of England, Bristol in 2010. Maia has recently exhibited at Grand Union, Birmingham; Phoenix Gallery, Exeter, and IMT Gallery, London, she has also been selected for national and international group exhibitions. Her work was published on DVD by Filmmarmalade in 2012 and was the subject of a monograph entitled ‘Here is the Yard’ published by Grand Union in 2014.
