This exhibition is about trying to carry on as an artist when you have a family.

My first child was 18 months when I started at Goldsmiths College to do fine art. I had my second child during the easter term of my second year, and went straight into my 3rd year without taking a break when Robin was 5months old. Luckily Goldsmiths had a nursery for both my children so it worked really well.

I had 2 more children after that- when I started my MA at the RCA in painting I was already pregnant and had to have a year out. My time at the RCA was longer because I had a break in between which was good as I met more people and enjoyed being part of college life for longer.

I was very committed to my art practise but didn’t want to sacrifice being a mother either. Its been very challenging but rewarding..
