ERRATA
… a device to be used only in extreme cases where errors severe enough to cause misunderstanding are detected too late to correct in the normal way …
Ever wished to leave the city for a far away place + a new island life? ERRATA is a new body of collective works by Shetland artist-led initiative Gaada, which critically explores the barriers and benefits of contemporary art practice in extreme, remote, rural contexts. Through a series of intimate provocations, Gaada offers corrections to romantic, often unrealistic notions of artists working in rural places and present some of the collaborative relationships which have been developed since establishing 14 months ago.
What does an art ecology look like without buyers / galleries / studios / making facilities / public transport links ? Visit the exhibition to find out, and if you still feel like a change of scenery? Our in-house travel agents will be available to help you plan your new life whilst dispelling myths and misconceptions between artists in the urban and the rural.
