Sunday 20 October, 12pm–3pm

Rosie Abbey, Marketing Ploys (2018)
In ‘Long Lost’ artist Rosie Abbey invites participants to be introduced to long lost friends – people they’ve known their whole life and for no time at all. New acquaintances will convince us of the lengthy pasts that they’ve shared. Using image, text, and objects, individuals will depict a friendship that never was. Through the performance of friendship, trust is made as a by-product. The outcome will appear as a series of friendship profiles, constituted by stories of meeting, pivotal anecdotes and shared values. False-reality acts as a catalyst for bonding. If you’re not getting along here, you may get along over there instead.
‘Long Lost’ is designed for Trust Exercises, a series of workshops by independent curator Georgia Stephenson, as invited by curatorial collective ‘Collective Ending’, within the wider programme of ABSINTHE at the Spit & Sawdust Pub.
